Fortune cookies are not from China

There's something clearly Chinese about the idea of cookies for fortune, but there's a problem, and it's quite a big one. The problem is that the idea of a fortune cookie is not Chinese. Instead, it seems that it was an American who came up with this idea almost a century ago and has since become popular.

The man went by the name of Charles Jung,  back in 1918, he made a fortune cookie, just to make an evening more fun. People loved to see those sayings appear in their food, so the idea was quick to take off. Over the decades, the concept of a fortune cookie has spread far and wide across the world, eventually becoming the phenomenon we know today.
